A method and terminal for the best cell report handling are discloses in the present invention, the method includes: the terminal modifies a triggering-event list according to the cell signal quality obtained by measurement; updates its best cell with the cell having the best signal quality in the modified triggering-event list; performs a deletion evaluation for all the cells in the triggering-event list according to the updated best cell; deletes a cell satisfying deletion conditions from the triggering-event list; and reports a measurement report with the triggering-event list after deletion processing to a network side. With the present invention, consistency of the best cell order between the network side and the terminal is guaranteed, and the reliable handover effect is achieved.
