Air conditioning system comprises an air treatment arrangement for distributing a first air stream (F1) and a second air stream (F2) with different temperatures in a first network (16) and in a second network (18). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Rail vehicle with the above air conditioning system; and (2) Method for conditioning the air in a compartment of a rail vehicle. Preferred Features: The air treatment arrangement comprises a common main air treatment unit (20) for supplying air to the first and second networks and an auxiliary air treatment unit (28) for separately treating the air stream in one of the networks.
