PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce magnetic noise caused by spin transfer torque without lowering an MR ratio or deteriorating a reproduction resolution.SOLUTION: A magnetic head 110 includes a reproducing head 70 including a first magnetic shield 72a, a second magnetic shield 72b, a magnetoresistive effect film 71 formed between the first magnetic shield 72a and the second magnetic shield 72b and including a first magnetization free layer 103 changing a magnetization direction according to an external magnetic field, and a third magnetic shield 72c formed between the magnetoresistive effect film 71 and the first magnetic shield 72a and having higher saturation magnetic flux density than that of the first magnetic shield 72a.
