<p>The device has a housing (18) and a radiation absorber (20) that are provided for radiation of electromagnetic UV-rays (12, 12') in a cornea (10). The absorber co-acts with a photo sensitizer (14) i.e. riboflavin, to cause interconnection of the cornea. The housing and the absorber are arranged to adjust inhomogeous distribution of radiation power density or irradiance of the rays. The housing and the absorber adjusts effective depth (16') of the electromagnetic rays in a radial and meridional manner. The inhomogeous distribution exists in a level (E) that is perpendicular to an eye axis (A). The radiation absorber is designed as a neutral density filter, refracting optical element, diffractive optical element, deformable mirror, electro wetting lens, micro mirror arrangement, polarization filter and liquid crystal plate.</p> |
