PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting method which can improve the yield of molten metal to be injected into a mold.SOLUTION: In the casting method, a required amount of molten metal is poured into a sand mold 10 and a casting product is cast, the sand mold 10 including: a molten metal pouring part 7 forming a cavity for pouring molten metal; a product part 8 forming a cavity for the casting product; and a runner 9 forming a cavity communicating and connecting the molten metal pouring part with the product part. The casting method includes: a step of pouring a molten metal M of a volume almost same as the total volume of the product part and the runner into the molten metal pouring part 7; and a step of inserting a heat resistant plug 12 into the molten metal pouring part 7 with the molten metal M poured therein, extruding the molten metal in the molten metal pouring part 7, filling the molten metal into the product member and into the runner, and thereafter clogging the opening part at the distal end of the runner. |
