AUTOMATIC STOP/RESTART DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic stop/restart device for an internal combustion engine which executes a speedy restart even when restart requirement is established during inertial rotation after an automatic stop of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: The automatic stop/restart device for the internal combustion engine includes a restart controller and a throttle valve controller. The restart controller executes a restart control of the internal combustion engine by pushing out a pinion gear and allowing the pinion gear to mesh with a ring gear by a pinion pusher when the restart requirement is established before the rotation of the internal combustion engine is stopped with the establishment of automatic stop requirement. The throttle valve controller opens the throttle valve even though the restart requirement is not established when the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is lower than a predetermined value before the rotation of the internal combustion engine is stopped with the establishment of the automatic stop requirement, and stops the control of the throttle valve until the restart requirement is established after the rotation of the internal combustion engine is stopped.
