PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable parallel processing of a plurality of recording media and to process a plurality of cards in a short time.SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: a conveying-in unit A for conveying in a recording medium; an image forming unit B for forming images on the front and the back of the recording medium; a conveying-in passage D for transferring the recording medium from the conveying-in unit to the image forming unit; a conveying-out passage E for transferring the recording medium from the image forming unit to a conveying-out unit; and a control unit H for controlling medium conveying means (15, 16, 17, 18) arranged on the conveying-in passage and the conveying-out passage. A first reversing unit F and a second reversing unit G are arranged on the upstream and downstream sides of the image forming unit, respectively. The first and second reversing units are configured to be able to return the recording medium to the image forming unit after reversing the recording medium sent from the image forming unit. The control unit H is provided with a monitoring means H1 for monitoring the busy state of the first and second reversing units, and a determination means H2 for determining to which of the first and second reversing units the recording medium should be transferred from the image forming unit according to the result of monitoring by the monitoring means. |
