The method involves recording a pattern (3) generated at an illuminated surface by using sensor surfaces (1) of two cameras (1'). Coordinates of a prominent location (5) are stereo-photogrammetrically determined from a measured data, and from specific coordinates of the two sensor surfaces in a predetermined coordinate system. The prominent location is changed as a support point. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for measuring, particularly for metric measurement of a reflective surface in a predetermined coordinate system.
