A system (100) for performing mobile transactions includes a mobile communication device (110) connecting to a server device 140 via a first network (90). The mobile communication device (110) includes a subscriber identification module (SIM) card slot (111) and a virtual subscriber identification (VSIM) interface (121) connected to the SIM card slot (111) and it provides subscriber identity authentication to the server device (140) via the VSIM interface (121). The mobile communication device (110) further includes a mobile transaction client application (120) for managing the communication between the mobile communication device (110) and the server device (140). The mobile transaction client application (125) manages the communication between the mobile device (110) and the server device (140) utilizing the Bearer Independent Protocol as defined in the European Telecommunications Standards Institute document ETSI TS 101 267 (3GPP TS 11.14).
