Disclosed are: core-shell metal nanoparticles having a high coverage factor of the shell on the core; and a method for producing core-shell metal nanoparticles. The core-shell metal nanoparticles are provided with a core section, and a shell section that covers said core section, and are characterized by: the aforementioned core section containing a metal core material selected from the group consisting of an elemental metal and an alloy; and the aforementioned shell section containing an alloy comprising a first metal shell material and a second metal shell material.
