The invention relates to a wall border strip (1) for forming an area enclosure which is peripheral at least along some sections and which has a dimensionally stable profile section (10) for securing an LED strip (12) in a fixed position. The profile section (10) further has a slot-like receiving section (38) that extends in an approximately longitudinal direction of the wall border strip. The LED strip (12), the length of which can be adjusted to the corresponding area length, is enclosed by the receiving section (38) with the exception of a light-output face and can be brought into contact with a power source at one of the ends of said LED strip.
