After making the coating liquid (17) come in contact with the body-to-be-coated (19) and before making the body-to-be-coated (19) and the nozzle (13) move relative to each other, and with the state of having the coating liquid (17) in contact with the body-to-be-coated (19) maintained, the tank (14) is lowered from a position where the relative movement between the body-to-be-coated (19) and the nozzle (13) is to be started, and then the tank (14) is raised back to the position where the relative movement between the body-to-be-coated (19) and the nozzle (13) is to be started. Thus, a method of manufacturing a light-emitting device, wherein an organic electroluminescence layer with unevenness in the film thickness thereof alleviated can be formed with the capillary coating method, is provided.</p>
