PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fixing part from suffering heat damage at a ground fault of a fixing heater.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a fixing heater 132 connected to an AC power source E through two power lines of a live line L and a neutral line N; a fixing part that is heated by the fixing heater 132 for subjecting recording paper to thermal fixing; an on-off switch 137 provided at least to the live line L; a current detecting part 320 for detecting a value of a current that flows through the neutral line N; a temperature detecting part 136 for detecting a temperature of the fixing part; and a conduction control part 314 for turning off the on-off switch 137 in a case where the temperature detected by the temperature detecting part 136 exceeds the upper limit value defined beforehand, or in a case where the value of the current that flows through the neutral line N detected by the current detecting part 320 is less than the lower limit value defined beforehand. |
