It is described a circuit for protecting a controllable power switch, the circuit comprising: the controllable power switch (101) having a first power switch terminal (103) connected to the first terminal (109), a second power switch terminal (105) connected to the second terminal (111), and a power switch control terminal (107); a diode (113) having a first diode terminal (115) and a second diode terminal (117); and a controllable control switch (119) having a first control switch terminal (121) connected to the first diode terminal, a second control switch terminal (123), and a control switch control terminal (125), wherein a signal applied to the power switch control terminal (107) is based on a signal at the second control switch terminal (123). Further a method for protecting a controllable power switch is described. |
