PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which promotes laticifer formation of a plant having a laticifer, mainly a latex production plant such as a rubber tree, and is effective in increasing latex production, and to provide a method for increasing latex production using the compound.SOLUTION: There are provided a laticifer formation promoter containing as an active ingredient one or two or more compounds represented by the following general formula (I); a laticifer formation promoter according to the above, wherein the compound is cis-jasmone; and a method for increasing latex production including the step of adhering the laticifer formation promoter according to any of the above to a latex production plant. Note that in the formula (I), Rand Rare each independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group. |
