An odor release system is equipped with: an odor release unit (4) that is disposed on a chassis having an odor source on the inside, and that releases odors to the outside from the chassis; a moving body detection unit (2) that detects moving bodies that approach the chassis; and a control unit (3). The control unit (3) comprises: a moving speed calculation unit (31) that calculates the moving speed of a moving body from a detection signal from the moving body detection unit (2); and an odor release control unit (32) that releases odors from the odor release unit (4) when the moving speed of the moving body calculated by the moving speed calculation unit (31) is less than or equal to a preset speed.
