<p>The present invention concerns a processing method for accessing a spatio-temporal part (162) of a compressed video sequence (160), as well as an associated device. The method comprises the following steps: - obtaining (S403) a request for access (REQACC) to said part by identifying a temporal section defined between initial (ti) and final (tf) times of the initial (ROI(ti)) and final (ROI(tf) spatial regions - different from the initial region) of the sequence at the initial (ti) and final (tf) times; - decomposing (S406, S904, S1003, S1006, S1303, S1309) said access request into a plurality of elementary requests (REQn) for access to a video fragment(164n), each elementary request identifying a fixed spatial region (maxROI(tn, tn+1)) to extract in a temporal sub-interval of said temporal section; and - exploiting (S407, S907, S1310) at least one elementary request to access video fragments (164n) constituting said part to access (162).</p> |
