PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a long stretched film having a prescribed orientation angle and an Nz coefficient, and reduced in a variation of the orientation angle and the Nz coefficient over an entire width.SOLUTION: The method of forming the long optical compensation film includes a process for obtaining an optical film B with an average orientation angle βwithin a range of 10-80° with respect to a width direction in a stretching finish point in the process, and a process for drying a coating film applied, on the optical film B, with at least one kind of a polymer solution of a polymer selected from a group composed of polyamide, polyimide, polyether, polyether ketone, polyamide imide and polyester imide, and forms the long optical compensation film having an average orientation angle β within a range of 10-80° with respect to the width direction, and having 1.3 or larger or -0.3 or smaller of an Nz coefficient. |
