PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely recognize a focusing point selected by himself or herself, and to provide an out-of-focus image intended by a user.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: a display section having a function of detecting a position touched by a pointer. A pixel of interest being a pixel corresponding to the position of the pointer is identified from among respective pixels forming an image displayed on the display section, and an icon for pointing the pixel of interest is displayed on a screen of the display section. An image focused in a part corresponding to the pixel of interest is generated using distance data corresponding to the respective pixels forming the image.
