PURPOSE:To decrease the coefft. of friction, curling toward the ferromagnetic thin film layer and drop-out by subjecting a magnetic recording medium of a thin film type formed with the ferromagnetic thin film on a base or a coating film type formed with a coating film to back coating. CONSTITUTION:A back layer formed by dispersing non-magnetic powder in a binder contg. a radiant ray sensitive curable resing contg. a fatty acid or a mixture composed of the fatty acid and ester of fatty acid is provided on the other side of a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic recording layer on one side of a base. A polyethylene terephthalate film, etc. are used for the base and a polyimide film, polyamide film, etc. are used for the same when heat resistance is required. The above-mentioned rediant ray sensitive curable resin refers to a resin contg. >=2 unsatd. double bonds in such a molecule which causes crosslinking by generating a radial when irradiated with radiant ray. The coefft. of friction on the back surface is thus decreased and the curling toward the magnetic surface is decreased; moreover, scinting and sticking between the magnetic surface and the back surface are prevented. |
