PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve train estimating the turning angle of a control shaft by immediately performing relearning even if the learning value of a correlation between the turning angles of a motor shaft and the control shaft is not proper by instantaneous interruption of electric power during the traveling of a vehicle.SOLUTION: The control shaft of a variable lift mechanism and the rotating shaft 71 of the motor 70 transmit driving force (torque) to the control shaft 66 through a driving force transmission mechanism 72. The motor 70 includes an MO sensor 36 for detecting the turning angle of the motor shaft 71, and a pulse type sensor 73 rotating in synchronization with the control shaft 66 and outputting a predetermined pulse signal train is mounted to the control shaft 66. By the pulse type sensor 73, it is possible to learn a corresponding pulse position, that is, the rotational position (angle) of a pulser, from each interval (pulse width) of the pulse signal. Since the pulser rotates in synchronization with the control shaft 66, it is possible to grasp the rotational position of the control shaft 66 and the lift of a corresponding intake valve 14 from the rotational position (angle) of the pulser. |
