PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb catalyst whose temperature is hardly lowered even if the temperature of an exhaust gas discharged from an engine is lowered.SOLUTION: The honeycomb catalyst 100 includes a honeycomb section 3 having a partition 1 that comparts and forms a plurality of cells 2 extended to the other end 12 from one end 11 that is a passage of fluid, a cylindrical honeycomb base material 5 having a heat storage section 4 disposed so as to enclose the outer periphery of the honeycomb section 3, and the catalyst carried on the partition 1 of the honeycomb section 3, wherein in physical properties, the material in the honeycomb base material 5 has a thermal conductivity of 20 W/mK or higher and heat capacity of 1,800 J/mK or higher, the thickness of the heat storage section 4 is 0.03-0.5 times the diameter at a cross-section which intersects perpendicularly with the direction in which the cell of the honeycomb base material 5 is extended, the thickness of the partition 1 in the honeycomb section 3 is 0.05-0.3 mm, the cell density thereof is 30-200 cell/cm, and the quantity of the catalyst carried on the partition 1 in the honeycomb section 3 is 60-400 g/L. |
