[Also in Group XXV] Drills &c. are ejected from taper sockets provided with a cam slot by a tool comprising reversely arranged wedges 1, 2. A rib 3 on the wedge 1 slides in a slot on the wedge 2 and has a slot 4 to pass a retaining pin 5. The ends of the wedges enter the forked end of the lever 9 the wedge 2 being pivoted at 8 and the wedge 1 having a slot 10 engaged by a pivot pin 7. The tool is pushed into the slot with the parts in the position shown and movement of the lever in the direction of the arrow causes relative movement of the wedges and ejects the tool. In a modification the wedges taper in the same direction. |
