PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger and a method of manufacturing the same, capable of inexpensively forming a connecting section of an external pipe and a tank in compact.SOLUTION: This heat exchanger includes an inlet tank disposed at an inlet side to which a heat medium is carried in through one external pipe, an outlet tank disposed at an outlet side from which the heat medium is carried out through the other external pipe, and a heat transfer tube communicating the inlet tank and the outlet tank. The heat exchanger further includes a pipe connecting section constituted of a cap member including a planar section forming a tank end face at an external pipe side and a cylindrical section vertically disposed from the planar section, and a joint member including a fitting hole fittable to the cylindrical section, and a pipe contact section with which the external pipe is kept into contact, on an end face at the external pipe side of at least one of the inlet tank and the outlet tank. |
