PROCESS FOR EXTRACTING PROTEINS FROM FFPE BIOLOGICAL TISSUE SAMPLES

The invention concerns a process for extracting proteins from formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue samples, comprising the following steps: ii) adding to the FFPE sample an extraction buffer comprising: A) a buffer solution at pH higher than or equal to 8; and B) a reducing agent at a concentration higher than or equal to 100 mM; iii) incubating the FFPE sample in the extraction buffer at a temperature in the range from 550C to 100°C in which said reducing agent is a compound chosen from the group consisting of dithiothreitol (DTT), dithioerythritol (DTE), tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine (TCEP), mercaptoethanol (MEA). The invention also concerns a kit for extracting proteins from FFPE samples, as a combined product for simultaneous, separate or sequential use in the extraction process of the invention.
