PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air spring improved in structure so as to have a practical durability by suppressing or eliminating that the folded part of a diaphragm tends to be easily damaged prematurely even if used at positions where the air spring is definitely displaced not only vertically but also horizontally. SOLUTION: This air spring includes a tubular rubber membrane 1, a large-diameter plate member 2 joined airtight to one end of the tubular rubber membrane in the direction of the axis P, and a piston 3 joined airtight to the other end of the tubular rubber membrane 1 in the direction of the axis P. A peripheral surface 3A which can rollingly guide a reversed tube portion 1C formed when the other end of the tubular rubber membrane 1 is folded back according to the elastic deformation thereof is formed on the piston 3. The piston 3 is formed of a stepped tubular member having a joint side end 3a which is positioned on the side where the tubular rubber membrane 1 is joined airtight thereto in the direction of the axis P and which is reduced in diameter.
