PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation control device, capable of making an alternative image forming operation be performed in an alternative image forming apparatus intended by a user, and capable of saving power without changing a program on an external information processor side at all.

SOLUTION: The image formation control device includes: an alternative printer registration table 208 wherein preservation is performed for each of a plurality of users for transmitting the data of an image forming job from a host computer as the information of the alternative printer of the same kind as a printer controlled by the image formation control device; an error monitor 207 for selecting the alternative printer capable of executing the alternative image forming operation on the basis of the information of the alternative printer preserved in the alternative printer registration table 208 when an error is generated while executing the image forming operation in the printer controlled by the image formation control device; and a communication control part 211 for transmitting a sleep mode cancellation request command to the alternative printer selected in the error monitor 207.
