The support has a double hinge unit (26) designed to allow movement of a tail gate (40) arranged away from a loading area in a mounted state, where the support is mounted on the tail gate by the hinge unit. Height of the support corresponds to height of a load carrier (30) arranged on the loading area. Two rotational axles are arranged at opposite ends of a pivotal arm in the hinge unit, so that the support is swingable upward in the mounted state. An actuator device operates pressure switches under the tail gate. A push plate is provided at a front end of the support.
