The method involves applying an aircraft-control path model in order to control or regulate the rotorcraft output. The inverse control path is modified when the external load is coupled to the rotorcraft. The modification of the inverse control path includes provision of an inverse control path of an external sling load together with a normal inverse control path. An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling or regulating the flight of a rotorcraft in a forward coupling-back coupling architecture.
