<p>A composition and method for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related amyloid plaque development and reduction of amyloid plaque, amyloidosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as neuro-degenerative diseases and protein aggregation diseases, includes an effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of phytic acid (inositol hexakisphosphate), a phytate salt, an isomer or hydrolysate of phytic acid or a phytate salt, or a mixture of any combination thereof, being administered to a person in an amount from about 0.5 grams to about 18.75 grams per day, with or without a dephosphorylating enzyme.</p> |
