A transmission system, particularly for vehicles, comprising a planetary gear arrangement having a sun gear connected to an input member, a planetary carrier connected with an output assembly and a set of planet gears coupled to a ring gear; a dog clutch assembly to selectively couple the sun gear to the output assembly; and a friction clutch assembly to selectively couple the ring gear to a stationary housing.
