Method for determining a pre-collapsed volume of a collapsible container

The method involves inserting a flexible, diffusion-tight and collapsible container (2) into a vacuum chamber (6). Defined vacuum is produced in the chamber, where the vacuum is applied at an external side of the container. An amount of liquid (3) i.e. water, in contact with external atmosphere is filled in the container during application of the vacuum until pressure balance is reached in the container. Mass of the liquid amount filled in the container is gravimetrically detected. Volume of the liquid mass is calculated as precollapsed volume (18) of the container based on the detected mass. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining precollapsed volume of a flexible, diffusion-tight and collapsible container comprising a vacuum chamber for receiving the container.
