PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an arithmetic circuit, to speed up an operating speed and to reduce a cost by providing a start and stop codes detecting means for fetching a black and a white width counted values shown in data and detecting a start and a stop codes at a high speed. SOLUTION: A barcode fetched by an image pickup part 102 is converted from analog signal into digital signal by a binarizing means 103, and the digital signal is transmitted to the start and stop codes detecting means 104. In the start and stop codes detecting means 140, the binarized signal is converted into the black and the white width counted values, and these values are transmitted to a sequential data analysis means 105. The CPU of the sequential data analysis means 105 always monitors the processing result of the code detecting means 104. Then, only when the start and the stop codes are detected by the code detecting means 104, decoding processing of the width counted values existing in the memory in, the data analysis means 105 is executed. |
