[Also in Group XXII] Means for radially adjusting a slide 6, carrying an element 25 such as a milling cutter, on the end head 4 of a shaft 3 comprises a diametral screw 9 engaged in the slide and journalled in the head, a bevel pinion 10 fast on the screw and geared to a bevel wheel 12 fast on shaft 3 through bevel pinions 13 on spindles 14 fast in the stationary casing 1, a loose double bevel wheel 15, bevel pinions 19 on spindles 20 fast in a worm wheel 21, and a loose double bevel wheel 18, the wheel 21 being rotatable by a worm 23 so as to effect the radial adjustment of the slide 6. The worm 23 may be rotated by a hand wheel 26. |
