<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muscular atrophy-preventing agent exhibiting excellent muscular atrophy-preventing effects that comprises a whey protein hydrolysate. <P>SOLUTION: The muscular atrophy-preventing agent comprises a whey protein hydrolysate that has a molecular weight distribution of 10 kDa or less wherein the main peak appears within the range of 200 Da to 3 kDa, an APL (average peptide length) of 2-8, a free amino acid content of at most 20% and a branched amino acid content of at least 20%, each based on the whole constituent components, and an antigenicity corresponding to 1/100,000 or less of that of β-lactoglobulin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
