<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical substrate of a low cost and excellent connectivity, and a method of manufacturing the optical substrate, by providing the optical substrate equipped with an optical waveguide inside the substrate by an inexpensive material and a process with high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The optical substrate is obtained by the method of manufacturing the optical substrate, including: a process of bonding the optical waveguide to the first surface of a first insulating resin layer; a process of laminating a spacer on the entire outer periphery or a part of the outer periphery of the optical waveguide; a process of opening an adhesive layer matched with the optical input/output part of the optical waveguide; a process of heat-pressing a second insulating resin layer to the first surface of the first insulating resin layer, with the adhesive layer; a process of providing a through-hole in the outermost layer of the insulating resin layer; a process of forming electric wiring by patterning in the outermost layer of the insulating resin layer; a process of providing an opening in the second insulating resin layer so as to expose the input/output part of the optical signal of the optical waveguide, and mounting a light receiving/emitting element for inputting and outputting light on the electric wiring; and a process of providing a light-receiving/emitting-element control element on the electric wiring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
