Provided is an input device comprising: a detection unit which is activated by tapping on the body of the user, and which detects as detection data vibrations transmitted through the body of the user; and an input information identification unit that refers to detection data, and identifies a tap position on the basis of a change in the detection data according to the physical values of body tissue at the tap position, and outputs an operation command assigned to the identified tap position. When performing an input operation to a mobile electronic device, the need for a user to take out an input device is eliminated, and the input operation by the user is simplified.
