摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a method for manufacturing a filter medium for heat-resistant filter excellent in bulkiness, heat resistance and compression elastic recovery in a nonwoven fabric with a thickness of 5 mm or above by combining a general-purpose fiber and resin, and to provide an exhaust gas filter using the obtained filter medium, and the heat-resistant filter such as a ventilation fan filter or the like. SOLUTION: At least one kind of a heat-resistant organic fiber selected from the group consisting of a polyphenylene sulfide fiber, a meta-aramid fiber, a para-aramid fiber, a polyamide-imide fiber and a polyimide fiber and at least one kind of a low melting point fiber selected from the group consisting of an olefinic fiber, a modified nylon fiber and a modified polyester fiber or a composite fiber containing the low melting point fiber are respectively mixed and, after the resulting mixed fiber is subjected to carding and lapping, the fibers are bulkily entangled in a bulky state in a needle punching process to melt and solidify the low melting point fiber by hot air. Subsequently, spray processing or impregnation-suction processing is applied to the fibers in a bulky state using a thermosetting resin to again fix and solidify the heat-resistant organic fiber.
