<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism that synchronizes a haptic effect with other media (e.g., audio and video). <P>SOLUTION: The haptic information of a series of frames of a media transport stream is identified and a corresponding time stamp is decided in accordance with a master time code signal that is buried in the media transport stream. The time stamp is successively allocated to each of the media transport stream frames that contain the haptic information.
