PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoacoustic engine capable of obtaining a big work with small temperature difference. SOLUTION: In this thermoacoustic engine 1 including a first loop tube 6 provided with a motor 5 for converting heat energy into acoustic energy by having a heater 2, a regenerator 3 and a cooler 4 in the pipe axial direction, a resonant tube 7 connected to the first loop tube 6 at its one end and linearly extended, and a second loop tube 12 connected to the opposite end of the resonant tube 7, having a heater 8, a regenerator 9 and a cooler 10 in the tube axial direction, and provided with a passive machine 11 for converting acoustic energy into heat energy, the resonant tube 7 includes an amplifier 16 for amplifying traveling-wave traveling in the resonant tube 7 from the first loop tube 6 toward the second loop tube 12 by having a heater 13, a regenerator 14 and a cooler 15 in the tube axial direction of the resonant tube 7.
