PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas oil composition having good oxidation stability and reducing an addition amount of an antioxidant or eliminating an antioxidant. SOLUTION: The gas oil composition has: density of 0.81 to 0.86 g/cm<SP>3</SP>at 15°C; a sulfur content of not more than 10 ppm by mass; a 90% distillation temperature of 280 to 355°C; a monocyclic naphthene content of not more than 15 vol.%; a dicyclic naphthene content, which contributes to reduce an addition amount of an antioxidant or to eliminate the antioxidant, of not more than 6.0 vol.%; a naphthene benzene content of not more than 6 vol.%; a total of the monocyclilc naphthene, dicyclic naphthene and naphthene benzene contents of 12 to 23 vol.%; and a total of a dicyclic aromatic content and a content of aromatic groups having three or more rings, of 0.1 to 0.6 vol.%.
