PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ether carboxylate, by which the reaction time can be shortened. SOLUTION: The method for producing the ether carboxylate, comprising supplying oxygen to a liquid phase containing a polyoxyalkylene ether having a hydrocarbon group at the terminal, a precious metal catalyst and an alkali substance to catalytically oxidize the polyoxyalkylene ether to produce the carboxylic acid, is characterized in that after the amount of oxygen dissolved in the liquid phase is reduced to 0 to 1 ppm, the supply of the oxygen is started.
