PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle wheel position detecting device that can detect attached positions of vehicle wheels by a simple configuration without requiring installation of the same number of antennas as the vehicle wheels. SOLUTION: A first vehicle body side communicator is attached to a position where a reception strength of one of response signals from vehicle wheel side communicators is within a first reception strength band exceeding a predetermined first reception strength threshold, and also where two reception strengths of the other response signals is within a second reception strength band falling below the first reception strength threshold. A first vehicle wheel attached position ID is applied to the vehicle wheel side communicators from which the response signal within the first reception strength band has been transmitted, and a second vehicle wheel attached position ID is applied to each of the two vehicle wheel side communicator from which the reception signal within the second reception strength band has been transmitted. A second vehicle body side communicator is attached to a position where the reception strength of the response signal from one of the two vehicle wheel side communicators is within the first reception strength band and the reception strength of the response signal from the vehicle wheel side communicator applied with the first vehicle wheel attached position ID is within the second reception strength band.
