<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unwanted vibrations in an acoustic wave device caused by a transverse mode. <P>SOLUTION: This acoustic wave device 1 is equipped with: a substrate 2; a dielectric film 4 formed on the substrate 2; and IDT electrodes 3a, 3b disposed between the substrate 2 and the dielectric film 4. At least one of the substrate 2 and the dielectric film 4 is a piezoelectric body, the IDT electrodes 3a, 3b include electrode fingers 3a-2, 3b-2 which extend in a perpendicular direction to the direction of propagation of the acoustic waves, and the thickness of the dielectric film 4 changes in gaps from the leading edge of the electrode fingers to the opposing IDT electrodes in the direction in which the electrode fingers extend. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
