PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a compound superconducting wire having the adhesiveness with a reinforcing tape material and a metal-coated superconducting tape wire by removing ceramics adhered onto the surface of the metal-coated superconducting tape wire, and forming a compound superconducting wire having high mechanical strength, and also to provide the compound superconducting wire, and the metal-coated superconducting tape wire constituting the compound superconducting wire. SOLUTION: A first metal-coated superconducting tape wire 13, a second metal-coated superconducting tape wire 13 and/or the reinforcing tape material 11 are prepared, and the first and second metal-coated superconducting tape wires are subjected to the ultrasonic cleaning. Furthermore, the compound superconducting wire 15 is manufactured by bonding the first metal-coated superconducting tape wire 13 to the second metal-coated superconducting tape wire 13 and/or the reinforcing tape material 11 with solder.
