PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch which provides a fine operation feeling, ensures a long component life, and is thin enough to make design work easy. SOLUTION: By moving up and down a plunger 40, one end of a coil spring 50 is caused to come in pressure contact with the other end edge of a movable contact piece 30 and move slidably there. This causes the movable contact piece 30 to be reversed, thereby causing a movable contact 31 to come in contact with and separate from a fixed contact 26. A pair of the movable contact pieces 30 and 30 are arranged on the base 10 in such a way that the axes of the movable contact pieces 30 and 30 are parallel with the longitudinal axis of the base 10 and that the movable contact pieces 30 and 30 are on both sides of the longitudinal center of the base 10.
