<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-film type optical absorbing film made of a multilayer thin film that absorbs light, of which optical absorbing property does not deteriorate even if used under a high-temperature condition or a high-humidity condition, and which is manufactured with simple manufacturing processes. <P>SOLUTION: The thin-film type optical absorbing film is made of the multilayer film formed on a substrate (101). The multilayer film contains an iron oxide layer (103) made of triiron tetraoxide, and a dielectric layer (105) made of a dielectric material.
