PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a vibration driving device when the mold body is vertically vibrated in a mold for continuous casting having an electromagnetic brake device. SOLUTION: The mold for continuous casting having the electromagnetic brake device includes: a core 3; a coil 4 wound around the core 3; and a yoke 5. The core 3, the coil 4 and the yoke 5 are integrated and supported to a support table 6. The tip of the core 3 is inserted into a recessed part 1a provided to the back face of the mold body 1 into which molten steel is poured in such a manner that the mold body 1 is vertically vibrated while securing gaps G1, G2. The mold body 1 is supported by the vibration table 7, and the mold body 1 is vertically vibrated independently of the core 3, the coil 4 and the yoke 5 by the vertical vibration of the vibration table 7, thus vibration weight is reduced.
