FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural engineering and is intended for use in bearing structures in construction, shipbuilding, aircraft building and other industries. The method involves forming an assembly containing components made from glass material and metal, on the condition that the coefficient of thermal expansion of the glass is lower than that of the metal, melting the surface of the glass material in contact with the metal, heating and holding at melting point of the glass material, generating forces which press components made from glass material and the metal to each other and cooling the workpiece. The reinforced glass material used is a glass rod which, in solid state, is put into a metallic cup which tightly presses it, the cup having a cover. The assembly is then heated to melting point of the surface of the glass rod, after which the latter is pressed by applying a force to the cover of the cup directed towards the bottom of the cup. The assembly is then cooled after that. The metallic cup is double layered. When cooling the assembly to 300C, the rate of cooling does not exceed 3C per minute, and during further cooling to room temperature, the rate of cooling does not exceed 10C per minute. Heating and cooling the assembly is carried out either in a vacuum of not less than 10-3 mm Hg or in the atmosphere of an inert gas, for example argon. ^ EFFECT: reliable joining of glass and metal sheets. ^ 4 cl, 1 dwg |
