The invention relates to a frequency responsive electro-hydraulic speed control system for, e.g., a steam turbine. A tachometer alternator 1 feeds two tuned circuits 3, 6 and 4, 7 resonant above and below the required speed - frequency. The voltage across the capacitor in each tuned circuit is rectified and applied to resistors 14, 15 to produce a difference signal controlling the turbine throttle through the following stages :-magnetic amplifier 17, torque motor 21, small hydraulic servo-system 28, 30, and large hydraulic servo-system 31, 34. The torque-motor field is supplied through a rectifier 25 from the alternator 1, and the energization of a secondary rotor winding 24 may be varied by a resistor 26 to vary the load/speed characteristic. |
